Questions regarding System Imager

Here we are going to answer some of the most recently asked questions regarding our fork of Remastersys.

1.  Will this be a paid product or remain a free product?
 A) It will remain free, we will be providing this as part of the OS4 Linux  default install as well.

2.  When will System Imager 1.0 be released?
A) As soon as we get the sources from fragadelic, we will begin work on the first release.  We are hoping to have something solid by mid-June.  Until then we will provide the Remastersys binaries from fragadelic.

3.  Can we use this to keep making distributions?
A) Yes and we do anticipate help from distributions that will use System Imager

4.  How integrated will this be to OS4?
A) very integrated and we intend to market this for customers as well

  3. hey Robert, have you decided what base linux system you will use to develop system Imager and have you already forked the code into a separate project tracker such as launchpad, github, sourceforge, etc.?
I am sure those of us who want this project to come into flourishion will also want to pitch in our two cents and or make sure it's bug free.

  5. Has this gone any further? I'd really like to see an update if there is going to be any. It's gone nowhere in two months that I can see. I run the remastersys-gui_3.0.4-1_amd64.deb and all went well until I tried to run it in the vmware. It got stuck at Starting in 1 sec and stopped. It looks to be a great app and hope you are still working on it.
    Thanks

  6. Hope this remains working in future Ubuntu versions and please never lose pure cli client that has no gui, it is very useful if it uses less dependencies and is not displayed for casual user. I use RS for creating ubuntu-s, it is most important software to me. I even donated to original deveoper this year.
